Nights of No Sleep but Full of Dreams
DREAMS AFTER SCHOOL

The Dreams After School Program is an engaging and creative after-school initiative designed to inspire and empower students through the performing arts. This program provides students with the opportunity to explore their talents in music, poetry, theater, and dance while fostering collaboration, creativity, and confidence.
Students will work together to create a final musical performance, showcasing their growth, hard work, and unique talents. Whether through writing songs, crafting spoken word pieces, choreographing dances, or bringing characters to life on stage, this program offers a platform for students to express themselves and shine.
Dreams After School is all about exposure, fun, and teamwork. It’s not just an after-school activity—it’s a space where students discover their potential, develop new skills, and create unforgettable memories.
This program has been successfully run at Crowell Recreation Center and is currently being implemented at Downtown Boxing Gym, continuing to make a lasting impact on students and their communities.
The program has provided students with unique opportunities to develop their creative talents and gain real-world experience in the performing arts. Students have collaboratively written, recorded, and released original songs, including producing a professional music video. Their work has been showcased through live performances on Fox 2 News and has even been played on the local radio station, Hot 107.5. These experiences have also included training in stage presence and media preparation, equipping students with skills that extend beyond the classroom.
The creativity and passion of the students in the Dreams After School Program served as the inspiration for the book The Invisible Boy. Their stories and dedication highlight the program’s ability to nurture creativity, build confidence, and encourage students to reach their full potential. Through its emphasis on exposure, engagement, and collaboration, the program continues to serve as a catalyst for student success and empowerment.
